Aggregated Licensing Overview

Overview

Aggregated Licensing is a channel-level feature that allows administrators to manage and distribute licences across all clients and sub-channels within a channel from a single pool. This simplifies licence management and provides greater flexibility when allocating resources across large or complex account structures.

To enable Aggregated Licensing, contact your Account Manager or reach out to the ZetaSafe support team at [email protected].

How Aggregated Licensing Works

Once enabled, a pool of licences is allocated to the main (aggregating) channel. All individual licence access is revoked for all users, including ZetaOps, and licences are instead managed centrally from the aggregate pool.

Licence Categories in the Aggregate Pool

Licence Type

Description

Clients

Total number of client databases available for distribution across aggregated channels

Assets

Total number of assets that can be allocated across aggregated clients and channels

Users

Number of users that can be distributed among aggregated clients and sub-channels

Documents

Available document storage shared between all aggregated clients and sub-channels

Handhelds

Number of handheld connections that can be allocated across aggregated clients and sub-channels

Managing Aggregated Licences

  • Licence additions for the aggregating channel (including client, user, document, and handheld licences) are handled exclusively by the ZetaSafe team and are not manageable via the Aggregated Licence Management function.

  • Adjustments to licences in both the aggregating channel and the aggregate pool can only be made by your ZetaSafe Account Manager.

  • Channel administrators of aggregated channels can create sub-channels, which draw licences from the main pool in the same way as clients.

⚠️ Important: When Aggregated Licensing is enabled, all individual licence access is revoked across the channel, including for ZetaOps. Ensure this is understood before enabling the feature.

Things to Keep in Mind

  • Aggregated Licensing is a channel-level feature — it is not available at the client level.

  • Sub-channels use the same pool — any sub-channels created by channel administrators will draw from the main aggregate pool, so licence allocation should account for this.

  • All licence changes go through your Account Manager — you cannot adjust the aggregate pool directly within ZetaSafe.
