Contract Work Status Widget Overview
Overview
The Contract Work Status widget allows you to define a specific time period — such as a financial year, contract duration, or project timeline — and view all scheduled work within that period in one place. It is particularly useful for tracking progress against contractual obligations or monitoring contractor performance across a large estate.
Colour Coding
The widget uses the same colour coding as the standard Work Status widget:
Colour | Status |
🟢 Green | Completed |
🟠 Amber | In Tolerance |
🔵 Blue | Scheduled but not yet in tolerance |
🔴 Red | Missed |
⚫ Black | Could Not Complete |
Building a Dashboard Around the Widget
The Contract Work Status widget is most powerful when paired with complementary widgets to provide a real-time, comprehensive view of performance. A recommended dashboard configuration includes:
Widget | What It Shows |
Contract Work Status | All scheduled work within the defined period |
Work Status | Progress against the schedule for the same period |
Result Compliance | Results from both scheduled and unscheduled work |
Open vs Closed Notes | Open notes generated from scheduled events |
Clicking Refresh All Widgets updates all widgets simultaneously, giving you an instant snapshot of current performance without navigating between screens.
Tip: Widgets showing unscheduled data (such as Result Compliance and Open vs Closed Notes) complement the scheduled view, giving you a more complete picture of overall performance. Combined with dashboard tabs, board reports, and detailed analytics, you can access everything you need without overloading a single dashboard.
Use Cases
The Contract Work Status widget is flexible enough to support a wide range of monitoring scenarios:
Single client tracking — monitor your own work against scheduled tasks within a defined contract period.
Multi-contractor estates — manage large estates such as universities with multiple contractors, using filters to track each contractor's progress by year — even when contract start dates vary.
Compliance scheme grouping — as shown in the screenshots, widgets can be grouped by compliance scheme (e.g. WATER, FIRE) to give a side-by-side view of performance across different workstreams on the same dashboard.
Things to Keep in Mind
Define your period carefully — the widget displays all scheduled work within the selected start and end dates, so ensure these align with your contract or financial year boundaries.
Pair with unscheduled widgets — scheduled data alone does not tell the full story. Adding Result Compliance and Open vs Closed Notes widgets for unscheduled work ensures nothing is missed.
Use dashboard tabs to organise views — rather than adding every widget to one dashboard, use tabs to separate views by contractor, compliance scheme, or reporting period.
