Understanding Compliance Gaps with New Dashboard Widgets
Overview
Tracking data entry and compliance status is important, but identifying gaps in data collection is equally critical. Two new widgets have been added to the ZetaSafe dashboard to help surface these gaps:
Consecutive Unable to Complete (UtC) Tasks
Consecutive Missed Scheduled Tasks
Using both widgets together: If a task has both UtC notes and missed scheduled events, it will appear in both widgets. In this case, combine the counts from both widgets to get a complete picture of how long it has been since the asset was last properly tested.
Common Scenarios These Widgets Help Identify
Scenario | Description |
Unusual situations | Assets that physically cannot be tested (e.g. a calorifier lacking a return pipe) may accumulate UtC notes, particularly if previously recorded inaccurately |
Scheduling mismatches | When the ZetaSafe schedule does not align with actual site visits, ad hoc tasks falling outside the tolerance window can generate missed or UtC events |
User input errors | If a task has been scheduled incorrectly, handheld users may continue entering UtC notes. These widgets highlight the gap so it can be addressed promptly |
Widget 1: Consecutive Unable to Complete (UtC) Tasks
What Triggers It
This widget activates when 2 or more consecutive UtC notes have been entered for scheduled events. Missed scheduled events occurring in between are excluded from the count.
What You Can Do
Clicking the count navigates to the schedule screen, focused on the last entered UtC event that signed off the schedule.
Additional Details
The widget displays the first and last UtC dates, showing how long the asset has been inaccessible.
A link to the last task result is provided — note that ad hoc results will not sign off the schedule.
If no result has been entered, this will be indicated in place of the link.
The count remains until a valid result (Red, Amber, or Green) is entered that signs off the schedule.
Links to the asset and location are provided for easy navigation.
The widget can be filtered by MCS, CTR, and Compliance Scheme / Asset Type.
Widget 2: Consecutive Missed Scheduled Tasks
What Triggers It
This widget activates when 2 or more consecutive missed scheduled tasks (red or missed events) have occurred. Missed scheduled events in between are excluded from the count.
What You Can Do
Clicking the count navigates to the schedule screen, focused on the current date and time. If the schedule has expired or been stopped, you may need to review the schedule history to locate the last missed event.
Additional Details
The widget displays the date of the last signed-off schedule. If no schedule has ever been signed off, this will be clearly stated.
A link to the last task result is provided — ad hoc results and UtC notes will not clear the count for missed tasks, even if they sign off the schedule.
The count remains until a valid result (Red, Amber, or Green) is entered that signs off the schedule.
Links to the asset and location are provided for easy navigation.
The widget can be filtered by MCS, CTR, and Compliance Scheme / Asset Type.

Things to Keep in Mind
These widgets are complementary, not duplicates — an asset can appear in both simultaneously, and counts from each should be combined for a full picture.
Ad hoc results do not clear counts — only valid results that sign off the schedule will reset the widget count.
Use the widgets proactively — regular review helps identify scheduling issues, data entry errors, and genuinely inaccessible assets before they become compliance problems.
