Grouping Widgets with Colour and New Chart Types

Overview

ZetaSafe includes two enhancements to help you organise and visualise your dashboard more effectively: a colour-tagging system for grouping related widgets, and additional chart type options for key widgets.

Grouping Widgets with Colour

Widgets on your ZetaSafe dashboard can be assigned a colour tag to help you visually group and identify related widgets at a glance. This is particularly useful when managing dashboards with a large number of widgets across different compliance areas or teams.

How to Select a Colour

  1. Open the widget settings for the widget you wish to colour-tag.

  2. Locate the Colour field and click the colour picker.

  3. Select your colour using one of the following methods:

    • Quick selection — for basic colours, choose directly from the top-right corner of the colour picker where strong, solid colours are available.

    • Hex code — for precise or consistent colours, type or paste a hex colour code (e.g. #2331bb) directly into the colour field.

  4. Save the widget settings.

Tips for Effective Colour Grouping

  • Use shades of a single colour to indicate relationships between widgets within the same group — for example, light blue, mid blue, and dark blue for three related compliance widgets.

  • Copy and paste hex codes to maintain colour consistency across multiple widgets without needing to manually match shades each time.

  • Limit the number of colour groups on a single dashboard to keep the visual organisation clear and easy to interpret.

New Chart Types for Widgets

Several widgets now support additional chart display options, giving you more flexibility in how data is presented on your dashboard.

Supported Widgets

  • Work Status

  • Open vs Closed Notes

  • Result Compliance

Available Chart Types

Chart Type

Description

Line

Displays data as a continuous line, useful for tracking trends over time

Bar

Displays data as horizontal bars, useful for comparing values across categories

Column

Displays data as vertical columns, useful for comparing values side by side

How to Change the Chart Type

  1. Open the settings for the relevant widget.

  2. Select your preferred chart type from the available options.

  3. Save the widget settings — the dashboard will update to reflect the new chart style.

Things to Keep in Mind

  • Colour tags are for visual organisation only — they do not affect the data displayed within the widget.

  • Chart type availability varies by widget — only the three widgets listed above currently support the additional chart types.

  • Hex codes ensure consistency — if you are managing multiple dashboards or sharing dashboard configurations with colleagues, using hex codes is the most reliable way to maintain a consistent colour scheme.
