Viewing Asset Locations with Google Maps Integration

Overview

When an asset in ZetaSafe has its Latitude and Longitude data recorded, you can view its precise location directly on Google Maps from within the web platform. Clicking the map will open Google Maps, where you can access detailed navigation and directions.

This is particularly useful for new technicians who need to quickly locate assets and plan routes efficiently without leaving their workflow.

Before You Begin

  • Ensure the asset you wish to locate has Latitude and Longitude coordinates recorded in ZetaSafe.

  • This feature is available on the ZetaSafe web platform only.

  • If no location data has been provided for an asset, the map will not be displayed.

How to View an Asset's Location on Google Maps

  1. Navigate to the relevant asset in ZetaSafe.

  2. Locate the map displayed on the asset details screen.

  3. Click the map to open the asset's location in Google Maps.

  4. Use Google Maps as normal for navigation, directions, or route planning.

Things to Keep in Mind

⚠️ Coordinate Accuracy: Google Maps will accept any input as a location. If an asset's coordinates are incorrect or incomplete, the map may display an unexpected or inaccurate result. Always verify that latitude and longitude data has been entered correctly when setting up an asset.

  • No map displayed? This means no location data has been recorded for the asset. Contact your administrator to have coordinates added.

  • New technicians can use this feature to seamlessly transition between ZetaSafe and Google Maps for efficient on-site asset management.
