Selecting the Correct Asset Type Across Multiple Compliance Schemes

đŸŽ„ Video Walkthrough: A video guide accompanies this article — watch it here.

Overview

When multiple compliance schemes contain similar asset types, it can be difficult to identify the correct one to select. ZetaSafe includes a feature that allows you to filter asset types by compliance scheme, narrowing down the list to only those relevant to your selected scheme(s). Coloured dots provide an additional visual cue to help you quickly identify which asset types belong to which scheme.

How It Works

Coloured Dots

Each asset type is marked with a coloured dot corresponding to its associated compliance scheme. When multiple schemes are in use, the dots make it easy to distinguish between similarly named asset types at a glance.

Filtering by Compliance Scheme

Rather than scrolling through a full list of asset types across all schemes, you can select one or more compliance schemes first. The asset type list will then display only those relevant to your selection.

How to Select the Correct Asset Type

  1. When prompted to choose an asset type, locate the Compliance Scheme filter.

  2. Select one or more compliance schemes relevant to your task.

  3. Review the filtered list of asset types — each will be marked with a coloured dot indicating its associated scheme.

  4. Select the correct asset type for your chosen scheme.

Things to Keep in Mind

  • Coloured dots are scheme-specific — if an asset type appears in multiple schemes, it may display more than one coloured dot.

  • Filtering by scheme narrows the list — this is especially useful in environments with a large number of asset types across several compliance schemes.

  • If unsure which scheme applies, check with your ZetaSafe System Administrator or refer to your organisation's compliance scheme documentation.
