Ageing Result Notes Widget
Overview
The Ageing Result Notes widget displays all open result notes in a single view, ordered from oldest to most recent. No open note goes unnoticed — regardless of how long it has been open. This makes it easy to spot trends, identify bottlenecks in your remedial process, and understand how long notes typically remain open before being resolved.
What the Widget Shows
The widget displays a bar chart of open result notes grouped by age in days, with a dynamic x-axis that updates with each refresh to always reflect the latest data.
This visibility can help identify issues such as:
Administrative delays in progressing remedial work
Gaps in visit frequency — for example, relying on annual visits to close notes that have been open for months
Process bottlenecks — identifying which stage of the remedial workflow notes are getting stuck at
Note Status Filter
The widget can be filtered by Note Status, allowing you to focus on notes at specific stages of the remedial workflow. The available statuses are:
Status | Stage |
Unacknowledged | Received — note has not yet been seen or actioned |
Acknowledged | Received — note has been seen but not yet progressed |
In Progress | Active — remedial work is underway |
Awaiting Feedback | Active — awaiting a response or update |
Propose Closure | Nearing resolution — closure has been proposed |
Tip: Grouping statuses into workflow stages helps pinpoint where delays are occurring. For example, a large volume of notes sitting in Unacknowledged or Awaiting Feedback may indicate an administrative bottleneck rather than an on-site issue.
Additional Configuration Options
Filter | Description |
Compliance Scheme | Filter notes by compliance scheme |
Asset Type | Filter by asset type (requires a Compliance Scheme to be selected first) |
Display Only Immediate Action Required | Toggle to show only notes flagged as requiring immediate action |
MCS | Filter by Master Compliance Scheme |
Things to Keep in Mind
The x-axis is dynamic — it adjusts automatically after each refresh to reflect the current age range of open notes, ensuring the view is always up to date.
Long-standing notes are always visible — notes that have been open for years will still appear, making it impossible for older outstanding actions to be overlooked.
Use alongside the Open Result Notes widget — as shown in the screenshots, pairing the Ageing Result Notes widget with the Open Result Notes widget gives you both a trend view and a detailed list view side by side.
