Editing Assets in ZetaSafe
Overview
ZetaSafe provides three ways to edit assets: individually via the asset details page, in bulk using Act on Selected or Act on All, and inline directly within an asset list. The right method depends on the scale and type of changes you need to make.
Editing a Single Asset

Navigate to the asset's details page in ZetaSafe.
Select Edit from the side menu.
Modify the relevant fields and save your changes.
What Can Be Edited?
Almost all asset fields can be edited manually, including asset attribute values. The following fields cannot be changed from this screen:
Asset Type â see Changing Asset Types for Accurate Data Management for guidance on this.

Editing Multiple Assets (Bulk Editing)

To edit multiple assets at once, first generate an asset list in ZetaSafe â for example, by clicking the Asset List icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
Act on Selected (AOS) vs. Act on All (AOA)
Act on Selected (AOS) | Act on All (AOA) | |
How it works | Acts on individually checked assets | Acts on all assets across all pages of the list |
Use for deactivation? | â Yes | â No |
Use for other bulk edits? | â Yes | â Yes |
â ïž Important: To deactivate multiple assets, you must use Act on Selected (AOS) with individual checkboxes only. Using AOA or the "select all" checkbox combined with AOS will not work for deactivation. This safeguard prevents accidental mass deactivation across a client's records, which can result in irreversible changes.
Editing Deactivated Assets
Deactivated assets that have not been replaced via Change Asset Type can be selected using AOS or AOA.
Only reactivation or moving can be applied to deactivated assets in bulk.
To apply any other changes, the asset must be reactivated first. Once reactivated, you can select and edit it as normal.
Active and Suspended Assets
Active and suspended assets can be updated using AOS or AOA without needing to change their status first.

Note: When scheduling assets in bulk, ZetaSafe will schedule all applicable tasks for the listed assets, even if those tasks were not previously scheduled. Review your selection carefully before proceeding.
Inline Editing
đ„ Video Walkthrough: Watch here
Inline editing allows you to make adjustments to individual assets directly within a filtered asset list, without leaving the list view. This is particularly useful when bulk editing is not appropriate â for example, when changes vary asset by asset.
The overall list remains visible in the background while you work through each item, making it easy to stay organised and maintain context as you go.
Choosing the Right Editing Method
Scenario | Recommended Method |
Changing one asset's details | Single asset edit |
Updating the same field across many assets | Bulk edit (AOS / AOA) |
Deactivating multiple specific assets | Bulk edit using AOS only |
Making varied changes across a filtered list | Inline editing |
