Resetting a User Password in ZetaSafe

đŸŽ„ Video Walkthrough: A video guide accompanies this article — watch it here.

Overview

There are two ways to reset a password in ZetaSafe — users can request a reset themselves via the login page, or an authorised user can reset it on their behalf from the User Management screen.

Option 1 — Self-Service Password Reset

This option is available when the user knows their username and has a valid email address associated with their account.

  1. On the ZetaSafe login page, click Forgot your password?

  2. Enter your username in the field provided.

  3. Click Reset Password.

  4. A password reset link will be sent to the email address associated with the account.

Option 2 — Admin Password Reset via User Management

Use this option when:

  • The user cannot recall their username

  • The account has an incorrect or missing email address

  • The user is locked out of the system

Any user with access to the User Management screen can reset a password on behalf of another user.

  1. Navigate to User Management via the Channel or Maintenance menu.

  2. Locate and select the user account that requires a password reset.

  3. Choose the Reset Password option.

  4. The user will receive instructions to set a new password.

Things to Keep in Mind

  • A valid email address is required for self-service resets — if the account has no email address, an admin reset is the only option.

  • Admin resets require appropriate permissions — only users with access to the User Management screen can reset another user's password.

  • User Management is accessible from two menus — both the Channel menu and the Maintenance menu provide access to User Management.
